The passion for driving and dynamism in Opel, has a new name: Insignia OPC. Its 2.8 V6 Turbo with 239 kW/325 hp and excellent torque of 435 Nm makes it the most powerful production car ever produced by Opel. Sport Insignia OPC reaches a top speed of performance (limited) of 250 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6 seconds. The OPC Automobile of the Year 2009 will be available this fall in Italy in two body styles: Sport and Sports Tourer.

Opel, which celebrates the tenth anniversary of its range, OPC has with the Insignia of many high-tech items. It 'the first OPC model to offer a standard 4 × 4 adaptive transmission with an electronic rear limited slip differential (eLSD). Its FlexRide suspension system has been developed specifically to provide a sportier driving experience.

Insignia OPC uses the FlexRide electronic system that adapts the cushioning and other functions to guide the driver's preferences. The latter can choose between the basic standard that offers excellent handling in all conditions, ideal for the demands of everyday driving, or regulation with which the sports suspension stiffen and reduce body roll for a more agile . Selecting the OPC, the driving takes on another dimension. The steering becomes more direct, quicker throttle response, the structure is addressed to the maximum hold and dials of the instruments are illuminated in red.

The new architecture of suspension HiPerStrut (Mast High Performance) is designed specifically for the Insignia OPC. With a reduced caster angle and a shorter upright, is a significant evolution of the insignia of the McPherson suspension standards. HiPerStrut reduces the reactions at the wheel, increases adherence and improves cornering, giving drivers the Insignia OPC, with greater accuracy and responsiveness, the feelings that you would expect.

Insignia OPC comes with Brembo front brakes with 18 "discs with large perforated 355 x 32 mm, high-strength aluminum calipers with 4 pistons with high-performance pad. A feature developed for the Insignia OPC, called floating-cast brake discs, discs with bell at the front provides aluminum and cast iron flange.

After an intense series of tests on normal roads and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, engineers of the 'Opel Performance Center in Rüsselsheim have opted for Pirelli P Zero 255/35, mounted on wheels 19 "and 20" made ​​with forged fluoformatura technique.

Given that the sound is important in the perception of an engine, the acoustic specialists have developed new Opel silencers, center and rear.
