The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar to 563 horsepower, the E 350 BlueTEC with low fuel consumption and the F-Cell-powered fuel cells will make their entry into North America at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public December 4 to 13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Mercedes-Benz will also launch its first hybrid SUV, the ML 450 HYBRID and the innovative dual-display technology SPLITVIEW content.
The new SLS AMG supercar
First car designed and built entirely by Mercedes-AMG, the new SLS AMG boasts aluminum space-frame for lightweight strength and superior, gullwing doors and a V8 engine with dry sump lubrication from 563 hp. With the engine mounted in the center front and the seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the new SLS AMG impresses with ideal weight distribution and handling worthy of a racing car.
F-Cell for the power supply to fuel cells
The new Mercedes-Benz F-Cell, an electric car that can recharge autonomously, will enter the U.S. market at the Salon in Los Angeles. The F-Cell has a range of 400 km and, fueled with compressed hydrogen, can provide a combined cycle fuel consumption equivalent to about 6.8 to 7.2 l/100 km. In 2010, the U.S. and European customers will be delivered 200 units of F-Cell cars as standard as part of a special lease program.
BlueTEC - The cleanest diesels in the world
Along with the F-Cell and the SLS AMG, the fore for the extraordinary E 350 BlueTEC. With 3-liter V6 diesel engine and 210 horsepower plus a powerful torque of 540 Nm, this car boasts fuel efficiency of 30% compared to those of gasoline engines with similar characteristics. Equipped with the revolutionary AdBlue injection that makes it even cleaner diesel emissions, the E 350 BlueTEC will be available in all 50 states in the spring of 2010.

Also at the show in Los Angeles will be presented with a Class D technology SPLITVIEW, a single display that allows the driver and front passenger to view two different programs simultaneously. For example, the driver can see the navigation system, while on the same screen the front passenger can watch a movie.
ML 450 HYBRID reducing consumption by 46%
Making its debut on the West Coast to Los Angeles Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz ML 450 HYBRID is equipped with gasoline engine 3.5-liter V6 and two electric motors and sophisticated electronics to ensure reduced fuel consumption by 46% compared to models ML 550 with V8 engine and similar characteristics. Each of the two magneto engines, integrated within the automatic transmission amended, is dedicated to a specific purpose: one is used for the traction power supply, the other in a specific manner for the acceleration. With both electric motors, the ML 450 HYBRID delivers a total of 335 hp and 515 Nm of torque.
