New Skoda Superb Combi, exclusive and elegant.

After the launch of the sedan took place last year, the S koda presents the Frankfurt Motor Show the wait Superb Combi: a multifunctional vehicle that offers excellent space and comfort, with which the czech Brand aims to create new again standard in the category. The unique design with the typical features of S koda, the back looking sharp and dynamic image are among the prominent features of Superb Combi, which is distinguished by the unique style and elegant. The long wheelbase and the sleek lines of the roof give the Superb Combi balanced proportions, while the interiors have optimal characteristics of space, both inside the car is in the luggage compartment.

The Superb Combi is 4,838 mm long, 1,817 mm wide and 1,481 mm high (1,510 mm if one considers the rails as standard, available in anodized or black). The cargo volume available is impressive: the luggage compartment capacity increases from a minimum of 633 to well

1,865 liters with the rear seats folded down. The width of the tailgate and the length of the boot-up to 1,800 mm-allow the transport even of objects particularly bulky, while the threshold low, located just 598 mm from the roadway, facilitates operations.

The interior of this precious 5 ports are identical to those of the sedan. The materials have been selected carefully and with great attention to detail. Inside the passenger, also, are present numerous solutions Simply Clever.

The frame of Superb Combi is based primarily on that of the sedan. The configuration of the wagon variant was optimized based on the greater payload and greater weight. The rear axle is connected to the bodywork by means of particular silent block, elements in metal and rubber that increase the driving comfort: a solution that prevents rolling, vibrations and oscillations are transmitted to the body shell, thus reducing the noise arising.

The front axle suspension with MacPherson struts with transverse arms triangular is positioned, exactly as in the sedan version, in an aluminum body, so as to obtain a better kinematics while simultaneously reducing the weight of the axis itself.

For the adjustment of the frame has been paid particular attention to the relationship balanced between agility and comfort: the suspensions possibility of covering in an excellent manner funds rough, while the oscillations of the bodywork in curve have been largely eliminated, thanks to the axes of large dimensions and careful configuration of the chassis components. A greater driving dynamics is allowed by the electromechanical steering, on which action was taken to improve the response, while the behavior of steering and the absence of oscillations allow to obtain excellent road holding and traction.

The engine range of the Superb Combi largely corresponds to that of the sedan, with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, all with direct injection, fuel economy and lower emissions.

The 2.0 TDI 140 hp (103 kW) delivers a maximum torque of 320 Nm between 1,800 and 2,500 rpm, and is available with either six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed DSG gearbox. The diesel version of the tip is the 2.0 TDI CR 170 bhp (125 kW) with common rail direct injection, which develops a maximum torque of 350 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm and is mated to a manual six-speed transmission. As an option, this engine is also available for the DSG six-speed automatic transmission. The particulate filter is standard on all versions.

All petrol engines are direct injection: the four-cylinder 1.4 TSI, despite the reduced displacement, delivers 125 hp (92 kW) and maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1,500 rpm. This engine is offered with six-speed manual transmission.

The 1.8 TSI with 160 hp (118 kW) reaches a maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm and, in addition to the six-speed manual transmission, can be combined with the DSG automatic transmission. The engine top of the range is the new Superb Combi 3.6 TSI V6 260 hp (191 kW), which develops its maximum torque of 350 Nm between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm. This version is offered exclusively with a six-speed DSG gearbox and permanent four wheel drive, so the high driving force is discharged to the ground effectively. The distribution of power takes place in a variable, while the traction control is entrusted to the fourth generation Haldex electronic clutch: this allows the car to proceed safely on any funds provided. While driving in conditions of normal traction, the power is delivered to the 96% front axle. For versions 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TDI CR-wheel drive is available on request.

The Superb Wagon, as the sedan version, the device is on the hill start assist HHC (Hill Hold Control), in addition the electronic stabilization program ESP-equipped for engines 2.0 TDI CR 170 bhp (125 kW) 4 × 4 V6 FAP and 3.6 TSI 260 hp (191 kW) 4 × 4-of stabilizing control for towing TSA (Trailer Stability Assist) that allows you to safely tow trailers up to 2,000 kg. The 4 × 4 wheel drive with Haldex multi-plate clutch is not only useful in this case: the variable distribution of torque between the axles ensures, in fact, the best conditions for excellent traction and vehicle control on any terrain.

For the first time ever is available for a model of the range ı koda the electronic system of closure and starter KESSY: a transponder present in the key and a generator of radio pulses inside the car unlock the closure as soon as is contested the handle of the door, for the closure is simply touch a button on the door handle, without having to use the key or remote control central locking. The engine starts and off via a button located on the steering column to the right, when you do this you must press the clutch pedal (in the case of a manual gearbox) or brake (if vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission).

Another detail particularly interesting of the new Superb Combi is constituted by the tailgate open and closable electrically, available as an option, as well as the electrical locking of the roller cover in the trunk. Opening the tailgate, the cover automatically moves to the middle position, which provides additional loading area. The trunk floor is raised and, with the tailgate open, can be extracted up to the height of the rear bumper, so as to facilitate significantly the procedures of loading of bulky objects. A set of aluminum bars, networks and eyelets inside the luggage compartment allows to fix the hills in an optimal way, preventing the displacement during the march. Between the supply of original accessories ı koda is located, also, a holder for bicycles that can be mounted in the lower part of the double bottom load after removing the top cover. A further solution Simply Clever is represented by a courtesy light positioned in the tailgate, which illuminates, in addition to the luggage compartment, even the surrounding area and the rear part of the car. Another light removable, housed in the left part of the boot, is equipped with batteries and if necessary can act as a pocket torch. This pile LED, which guarantees a great brightness with reduced energy consumption, is provided with magnet so you can be fixed to the bodywork, for example during the replacement of a wheel. By day, the panoramic sunroof gives the cabin a light and bright environment, to protect the occupants from direct sunlight can darken it down some with a cheerful, even if the glass roof is designed to reflect the 90% of the rays solar. Another new feature is the antenna that ... fin, with a particular method, gives a greater elegance to the roof line.

The allocation of infotainment systems also meet the demands: two different radio with CD-MP3 can be integrated into the car's computer network and provide many useful functions. The navigation system is the Amundsen base, with a touch screen through which you can access all functions, testing them in an intuitive way. Among the available stands, in addition to high-tech navigation system with touch screen and built-in hard disk, the audio system with high-end speakers, high-performance CD-MP3 and Aux-In or MDI (Media Device Interface ) placed on the jumbo box between the front seats, which makes it possible to connect an external device or a card reader. The Superb and Superb Combi will confirm attentive to the needs of each customer, with navigation systems and entertainment of high efficiency and functionality.
