Lamborghini has its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 its most extreme open-air supercar, the Reventón Roadster. The twelve-cylinder 6.5-liter engine develops an output of 670 hp, giving the car class-leading performance: the Reventón Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 330 km / h.

The open version of the Reventón is not only limited to being one of the fastest cars in the world, but also enters the Olympus of the most exclusive, as Lamborghini will be producing a limited edition.

A very small number of customers, not twenty, will have the opportunity to own this extraordinary car and enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving.

The car will be priced at 1.1 million euros (excluding taxes) and the first deliveries will begin in October 2009.

"The history of the Lamborghini Reventón has in its most extreme car," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA "and the new Roadster is a further demonstration of our high technology expertise."

The origin of the tradition of Lamborghini super sports discoveries dating back to the sixties: the home of Sant'Agata Bolognese, in fact, created in 1968, a single copy of Miura with removable roof, while the Diablo Roadster, which appeared in 1995, had the characteristic roof drive attached to the bonnet.

Inspired by the fastest airplanes

With the front tip, the powerful forward-facing air intakes, wide side skirts, the unmistakable doors opening up to scissor, the massive rear lines, the Roadster features a clean design and simple banner maximum functionality.

The headlights, front and rear, reminiscent of the incisiveness of the design, using the most modern light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The 16 LEDs mounted projectors, to ensure parking light and DRL (Daytime Running Light), and 8 LED function indicator.

The Reventón Roadster has, like the coupé, a length of 4700 mm, a pitch of 2665 mm, 2058 mm is large, compared to a height of 1132 mm.

Behind the sports seats are two pop-up, that protrude upward in a few hundredths of a second in the event of impending rollover. The third stop is instead housed in a horizontal profile of the wing attached to the bonnet.
The rear of the Roadster is marked by lines which differ substantially from the Coupé, the new hood is spread horizontally, and its transparency, with four glass panels, allows us to appreciate all the technical sophistication of the powerful V12 engine.

The body comes in an exclusive color called Grey Reventón. It is a dull gray tinge which has been specially designed for this special edition.
The matte paint used for the Roadster is characterized by a particular shade of gray that differs from that proposed for the Coupé, but as it gives under the rays of the sun striking impression of depth by virtue of special metal particles it is made.

They play with the contrast between matte and shiny the circles. At the black aluminum spokes are screwed onto the Opaque carbon fins, which create not only an optical effect, but also ensures optimum cooling of the powerful carbon-ceramic brakes.

The 12-cylinder Reventón Roadster is among the most powerful naturally aspirated engines in the world, with a compression ratio equal to 11:1 and a displacement of 6,496 cm3. The output is 670 hp at 8,000 rpm / min. and the maximum torque is 660 Nm at 6,000 r / min.

A masterpiece of automotive engineering made ​​in Italy: this is the powerful 48-valve V12 engine with four camshafts and dual chain of distribution. The distribution with variable valve timing and variable intake manifold in three configurations generates so consistent torque values. The dry sump lubrication to this advanced powertrain ensures a constant supply of oil even in the strongest lateral accelerations. The positioning of the motor, in the absence of the oil sump, is low and greatly increases the already extraordinary handling characteristics of the car.

With its powerful V12 the Reventón Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 330 km / h.
