Lamborghini Reventón supercar the Roadster open air most extreme

Lamborghini has its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 its most extreme open-air supercar, the Reventon Roadster. The twelve-cylinder 6.5 liter engine produces an output of 670 hp, giving the car performance champions: Roadster, the Reventón accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 330 km / h.

The open version of the Reventón is not limited to being one of the fastest cars in the world, but also enters the Olympus of the most exclusive, as the Lamborghini produce a limited edition.

A very limited number of customers, less than twenty, will have the chance to own this extraordinary car and enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving.

The car will be sold at a price of 1.1 million euros (excluding taxes) and the first deliveries will begin in October 2009.

"The story of the Lamborghini Reventon in its most extreme car," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA "and the new Roadster is a further demonstration of our high technology expertise."

The origin of the tradition of Lamborghini super sports discoveries dating back to the sixties: the House of Sant'Agata Bolognese in fact created in 1968, a single copy of Miura removable canopy, while the Diablo Roadster, which appeared in 1995, was the characteristic hood drive attached to the bonnet.

Inspired by the fastest airplanes

With the front tip, the powerful forward-facing air intakes, the broad side skirts, the unmistakable opening doors scissor upward, the rear lines impressive, the Roadster features a clean design and essential banner maximum functionality.

The headlights, front and rear, recall the incisiveness of the design using the most modern light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The 16 LEDs mounted projector, to ensure sidelight and DRL (Daytime Running Light), and 8 LED function indicator.

The Reventon Roadster, like the Coupe, a length of 4700 mm, a wheelbase of 2665 mm, 2058 mm wide, compared to a height of 1132 mm.

Behind the sports seats are two pop-ups that come up in a few hundredths of a second in case of impending rollover. The third stop is instead housed in a horizontal wing profile fixed on the bonnet.
The back of the Roadster is characterized by lines that differ substantially from the Coupé, the new bonnet spread horizontally and its transparency, with four glass panels, can appreciate all the technical sophistication of the powerful V12 engine.

The body comes in an exclusive color called Grey Reventón. It is a dull gray shade which is designed specifically for this special edition.
The matte paint used for the Roadster features a particular shade of gray that differs from that proposed for the Coupé, but as it gives under the rays of the sun striking impression of depth by virtue of special metal particles it contains.

Play with the contrast between matte and shiny rims also. Races in the black aluminum fins are screwed onto carbon mat, not only creating a particular visual effect, but also ensures optimum cooling for the powerful carbon-ceramic brakes.

The 12-cylinder supercars roadster is among the most powerful naturally aspirated engines in the world with a compression ratio equal to 11:1 and a displacement of 6496 cm3. The power output is 670 hp at 8,000 rpm. and maximum torque of 660 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

A masterpiece of automotive engineering made in Italy: this is the powerful 48-valve V12 engine with four camshafts and dual chain. Distribution with variable step and variable intake manifold geometry in three configurations generates large torque. The dry sump lubrication at this advanced powertrain provides a constant supply of oil even in stronger lateral accelerations. The positioning of the engine, in the absence of the oil sump, is lowered and increases significantly the already exceptional handling characteristics of the car.

Thanks to the powerful V12 engine, the Reventon Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 330 km / h.
